Mamadou Diallo Director, Regional Support Team for West and Central Africa, UNAIDS
As Director of the Regional Support Team for West and Central Africa, Mamadou Diallo supports countries across the region to achieve the targets set out in the 2011 Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS.
Prior to joining UNAIDS Mr Diallo worked for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as UN Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Eritrea. Mr Diallo also worked for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as Regional Adviser for West and Central Africa based in Senegal and as UNFPA Resident Representative in Sierra Leone and Mali.
Mr Diallo is a medical doctor and a senior public health specialist. He holds a Medical Doctor Degree from the School of Medicine, Université de Conakry, Guinea, a Special Diploma in Public Health from Université Catholique de Louvain in Brussels, Belgium and a Master’s of Public Health Degree from the State University of California in San Diego, USA.
