Rosemary Museminali, Representative to African Union and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, UNAIDS
Rosemary Museminali works to advance the implementation of the AIDS response across Africa as the UNAIDS Representative to the African Union and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
Ms Museminali has served in several capacities in Rwanda and Uganda including Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Rwanda; Minister of State for International Cooperation, Rwanda; Rwandan Ambassador to the UK, Republic of Ireland and Scandinavian countries; Secretary General of the Rwandan Red Cross Society; Director of Social Services, Government of Rwanda and Administration Manager, Nyanza Textile industries, Uganda.
She holds an advanced degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda as well as post graduate diplomas in Social Rehabilitation, Resource Management and Refugee Management.
Ms Museminali is a Rwandan national. She was born in Uganda as a Rwandan refugee and returned to Rwanda in 1994 after the genocide at the age of 32. She is married with five daughters and her social interests include fine art, heritage tourism and vegetable farming.
