Ingrid Regien, Director, Information Communication Technology

Ingrid Regien, Director, Information Communication Technology (ICT) within the Department of Management, joined UNAIDS on 1 February 2023 and is based in the new global hub in Bonn. Ingrid had held a number of senior ICT management roles, most recently as Director of IT and Chief Information Officer at Vrije University in Amsterdam and formerly as Chief Information Officer at UNESCO.

Ingrid has extensive experience in developing ICT strategies with ICT as key enabler to achieve strategic goals and foster knowledge management and innovation. Both at the university and at UNESCO, Ingrid has been responsible for setting up ICT governance and a wide range of programmes such as the implementation of education solutions, research infrastructure, knowledge management platforms including web and Office365 implementations, ERP including workflow applications and information security improvement programs. Ingrid started her career in business and ICT consulting and later in ICT management positions in international businesses.

In her new role, she will focus on increasing the effectiveness of programme delivery at UNAIDS through diversifying the use of information and communication technologies. With Ingrid’s recruitment and the ongoing establishment of a Knowledge Management team, we are well placed to develop and implement strategies to innovate and embed new ways of working across the Organization.

Ingrid holds a Master degree in Information Science from the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands
