Китайская версия книги, удостоенной награды, была представлена на церемонии открытия.

ПЕКИН/ЖЕНЕВА, 29 июля 2016 г. — Сегодня открылся китайско-африканский летний лагерь для детей, темой которого была «Любовь в лучах солнца», в котором собрались 60 молодых людей, живущих с ВИЧ или затронутых ВИЧ, из Китая, Ганы, Южно-Африканской Республики и Зимбабве.

На территории Запретного города, где организован лагерь, присутствовали первая леди Китая Пэн Лиюань, первая леди Южно-Африканской Республики Тобека Мадиба Зума, а также Исполнительный директор ЮНЭЙДС Мишель Сидибе и Генеральный директор Всемирной организации здравоохранения Маргарет Чен.        

Когда стрекозы, символ перемен и уверенности в своих силах, влетели на площадь, первая леди Китая поприветствовала участников и сказала, что давно мечтала собрать вместе детей, затронутых ВИЧ, права которых она долгое время отстаивала в Китае, вместе с молодыми людьми из Африки.

«Я очень рада, что мы все можем быть здесь вместе», - сказала г-жа Пэн.

Впервые молодые люди не из Китая приняли участие в летнем лагере, который проводится в рамках мероприятий Форума сотрудничества «Китай-Африка».

«Мы хотим, чтобы дети могли в полной мере развивать свой потенциал и реализовать свои мечты», - сказала г-жа Зума. «Благодаря этому летнему лагерю у детей есть редкая возможность посетить эту прекрасную страну и поделиться своим опытом, чтобы вдохновлять и поддерживать друг друга».

Г-н Сидибе вышел на сцену с 16-летней Джулией из Ганы.

«Это возможность поблагодарить вас всех за вашу смелость и рассказать вам, что мы вас любим и верим в вас», - сказал г-н Сидибе.

Во время церемонии, и при сотрудничестве с китайским информационным агентством «Синьхуа», ЮНЭЙДС представила книгу о ВИЧ для детей, получившую награды, переведенную на китайский язык.  Китайскую версию книги «Самый храбрый мальчик, которого я знаю» раздали участникам китайско-африканского летнего лагеря для детей в Пекине. Книга станет важным учебным пособием в школах Китая и поможет детям понять проблемы, сопровождающие ВИЧ, а также снизить уровень стигмы и дискриминации в отношении детей, затронутых вирусом.

В книге представлена трогательная история о двух друзьях – Сяо Мин и Сяо Ли, и их совместных приключениях. Сяо Мин живет с ВИЧ. Иллюстрации к истории рисовала известная художница Суджин Рим. Это душевная история о противостоянии ВИЧ в позитивном ключе. В первоначальной версии книги события происходят в Африке, эту версию широко распространяли через систему библиотек Thank You Small Library («Спасибо тебе, маленькая библиотека») в Африке. 

«Эта книга – ценный инструмент, который поможет родителям, учителям и воспитателям объяснить сложные эмоциональные проблемы, связанные с ВИЧ, детям, о которых они заботятся», - добавил г-н Сидибе. «Каждый ребенок заслуживает того, чтобы чувствовать себя защищенным и любимым, чтобы его детство было свободно от стигмы и дискриминации, и каждый ребенок, живущий с ВИЧ, должен иметь доступ к лечению».    

В 2015 году из оценочного числа 1,8 миллиона детей в возрасте до 15 лет, живущих с ВИЧ во всем мире, только у половины был доступ к антиретровирусным препаратам, которые помогают им выживать и нормально себя чувствовать. В 2015 году было зарегистрировано 150 000 новых случаев ВИЧ-инфекции среди детей в возрасте до 15 лет.          

Книга «Самый храбрый мальчик, которого я знаю» также доступна на английском, французском и португальском языках, и выпускается с информационным листком о детях и ВИЧ, и руководством по проведению обсуждений для учителей и воспитателей. PÉKIN/GENÈVE 29 juillet 2016—Le camp d’été des enfants d’Afrique et de Chine a ouvert ses portes aujourd’hui sous le thème « Love in the Sunshine » (« L’amour au soleil »), où il a accueilli 60 jeunes vivant ou affectés par le VIH en provenance de Chine, du Ghana, d’Afrique du Sud et du Zimbabwe.

La Première Dame de Chine, Peng Liyuan, la Première Dame d’Afrique du Sud, Thobeka Madiba-Zuma, ainsi que le Directeur exécutif de l’ONUSIDA, Michel Sidibé et la Directrice Générale de l’Organisation Mondiale de la Santé, Margaret Chan ont participé à l’évènement organisé dans l’enceinte de la Cité Interdite.    

Tandis que les libellules, symbole de renouveau et d’indépendance, volaient dans la cour ouverte, la Première Dame de Chine a accueilli les participants en déclarant qu’il s’agissait d’un rêve que de pouvoir rassembler les enfants chinois affectés par le VIH qu’elle soutient depuis longtemps avec les jeunes enfants d’Afrique.

« Je suis très heureuse que nous soyons tous réunis ici », a déclaré Mme Peng.

C’est la première fois que des enfants vivant hors de Chine participent au camp d’été organisé en marge du Forum sur la coopération Chine-Afrique.

« Nous souhaitons que tous les enfants expriment pleinement leur potentiel et réalisent leur rêves », a déclaré Mme Zuma. « Ce camp d’été offre à nos enfants une opportunité rare de visiter ce pays magnifique et de partager des expériences afin de s’inspirer et se rendre plus fort mutuellement. »

M. Sidibé est monté sur scène avec à ses côtés, Julia, 16 ans en provenance du Ghana.

« C’est une opportunité pour vous remercier de votre courage et pour vous dire que l’on vous aime et que l’on croit en vous, » a déclaré M. Sidibé.

Durant la cérémonie et en partenariat avec l’organisation médiatique chinoise, l’agence de presse Xinhua, l’ONUSIDA a publié la version chinoise du livre lauréat traitant du VIH destiné aux enfants. La version chinoise de Le garçon le plus courageux que je connaisse a été remis aux participants présents lors du camp d’été des enfants de Chine et d’Afrique à Pékin. Ce livre deviendra un support pédagogique important dans les écoles chinoises et aidera à comprendre les questions entourant le VIH et ainsi à réduire la stigmatisation et la discrimination auxquelles doivent faire face les enfants affectés par le virus.

Le livre raconte l’histoire touchante de deux amis, Xiao Ming et Xiao Li, et de leurs aventures. Xiao Ming vit avec le VIH. L’histoire est illustrée par l’artiste de renom Sujean Rim. Ce récit plein de tendresse montre comment faire face au VIH de manière positive. La version originale du livre a pour décor l’Afrique et a largement été distribué en Afrique par le système Thank You Small Library (Merci Petite Librairie). 

« Ce livre constitue un outil précieux permettant d’aider les parents, les enseignants et le personnel soignant à expliquer les questions complexes et émotionnelles entourant le VIH aux enfants durant leur traitement, » a jouté M. Sidibé. « Chaque enfant mérite de se sentir protégé et aimé, et a le droit de vivre une enfance sans stigmatisation ni discrimination. Chaque enfant vivant avec le VIH doit avoir accès au traitement. »   

En 2015, selon les estimations, parmi les 1,8 millions d’enfants de moins de 15 ans vivant avec le VIH dans le monde, seulement la moitié d’entre eux avaient accès aux médicaments antirétroviraux afin de les maintenir en vie et en bonne santé. 150 000 nouvelles infections du VIH ont été diagnostiquées parmi les enfants âgés de 15 ans et moins en 2015.         

Le garçon le plus courageux que je connaisse, également disponible en anglais, en français et en portugais, est publié avec des fiches d’informations sur les enfants et le VIH ainsi qu’un guide de discussion pour les enseignants et le personnel soignant. En septembre 2015, le livre a remporté le premier prix de la catégorie Médecine Populaire du prix littéraire de la British Medical Association (BMA).

Chinese version of award-winning book is launched at the Opening Ceremony.

BEIJING/GENEVA, 29 July 2016—The China-Africa Children Summer Camp opened today under the theme of “Love in the Sunshine”, bringing together 60 young people living with or affected by HIV from China, Ghana, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Held on the grounds of the Forbidden City, in attendance at the event were the First Lady of China, Peng Liyuan and the First Lady of South Africa, Thobeka Madiba-Zuma as well as the Executive Director of UNAIDS, Michel Sidibé and the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Margaret Chan.    

As dragonflies, a symbol of change and self-reliance, flew into the open square, the First Lady of China welcomed the participants saying it was a dream to bring together children affected by HIV she has long championed in China with young people from Africa.

“I am very happy that we can be here together,” said Mrs Peng.

This is the first time that young people from outside China have participated in the summer camp happening on the side lines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

“We want all children to grow to their full potential and realize their dreams, said Mrs Zuma. “This summer camp offers our children a rare opportunity to visit this beautiful country and to share experiences to inspire and strengthen one another.”

Mr Sidibé brought 16-year-old Julia from Ghana with him up to the stage.

“This is an opportunity to say thank you to all of you for your bravery and let you know that we love you and believe in you,” said Mr Sidibé.

At the ceremony and in partnership with the Chinese media organization, Xinhua News Agency, UNAIDS released a Chinese language version of an award-winning book on HIV for children. The Chinese version of The Bravest Boy I Know was given to participants attending the China-Africa Children Summer Camp in Beijing. The book will become an important teaching aid in schools across China to help children understand the issues surrounding HIV and reduce stigma and discrimination faced by children affected by the virus.

The book is the touching story of two friends, Xiao Ming and Xiao Li and their adventures together. Xiao Ming is living with HIV. The story is illustrated by the renowned artist Sujean Rim. It is the heart-warming tale of facing HIV in a positive way. The original version of the book takes place in Africa and has been distributed widely through the Thank You Small Library system in Africa. 

“This book is a valuable tool to help parents, teachers and carers explain the complex and emotional issues surrounding HIV to children in their care,” added Mr Sidibé. “Every child deserves to feel protected and loved and to experience a childhood free of stigma and discrimination and every child living with HIV must have access to treatment.”    

In 2015, of the 1.8 million children under 15 years of age estimated to be living with HIV worldwide, only half had access to antiretroviral medicines to keep them alive and well. There were 150 000 new HIV infections among children aged 15 and under in 2015.          

The Bravest Boy I Know is also available in English, French and Portuguese and is released together with a factsheet on children and HIV and a discussion guide for teachers and carers.  In September 2015, the book won first prize in the Popular Medicine category of the British Medical Association.
