At its 43rd PCB meeting in December 2018, the Programme Coordinating Board called for the immediate initiation of the selection process for the next UNAIDS Executive Director.
The deadline to submit applications for the position of UNAIDS Executive Director has been extended to COB Sunday, 26 May 2019, due to technical problems experienced with the online application system. There is a precedent as the 2008 Executive Director search was also extended. This extension has no implication for those who have already applied and will not affect the applicant screening process. This extension will allow for a wide pool of highly qualified candidates while adhering to the timeline as adopted in the Process and terms of reference for the Search Committee for the nominations of UNAIDS Executive Director.
