UNAIDS is guided by a Programme Coordinating Board (PCB) which serves as its governing body. The PCB has representatives of 22 governments from all regions of the world, the eleven UNAIDS Cosponsors, and five nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), including associations of people living with HIV. UNAIDS is the first United Nations programme to include NGOs in its governing body.
